5/18 Online Class Announcement

Dear Parents/Guardians,

After numerous hours of consultation with the school’s executive team, after gaging the current pandemic situation in northern Taiwan, and after consultation with the heads of other international schools in Taiwan, The Hsinchu American School has decided to go online for the rest of the school year effective Wednesday, May 19. We made this decision with the safety of our students and staff as our top priority.

To ensure the education of our students, we will continue to provide the best education possible in a digital format. As we did last year, all courses, except for Physical Education, will be conducted on Google Classroom during normal class periods. All students are required to login to their courses and complete all assignments as assigned. Teachers will take attendance and interact with their students on a daily basis.

If your student was not on campus this week please contact the office to make arrangements to collect any academic materials and personal belongings.

More details will be provided later about virtual graduation and awards ceremonies as well as how students will be able to pick up diplomas and yearbooks and return their textbooks.

親愛的家長/監護人您好：

為因應台灣北部新冠肺炎疫情大流行，學校團隊經過長時間開會討論，並參考其他國際學校的防疫措施後，新竹美國學校決定於5月19日（星期三）起，開始實施線上上課至學年結束(6月3日)，以維護全校學生及教職員的健康安全。

為了確保疫情期間教學，學校將繼續提供最好的數位化教學課程，如同去年一樣，所有課程（體育課除外）都將在正常上課時間，以Google雲端教室上課，所有學生都必須登入自己的課堂，並完成所有分派的作業，老師將每天點名記錄出勤與學生們互動。

如果您的孩子本週沒有出勤上課，請與行政辦公室預約到校時間，以便安排取回學用品及個人用品。

有關畢業典禮及學生期末獎項、領取畢業證書及年刊、教科書歸還，都將在爾後發出更詳盡的訊息讓您知悉。
