2022 Thanksgiving Letter




Dear Parents/Guardians,


We are hosting our annual Thanksgiving event on Thursday, November 24 starting at 12:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for students and parents to participate in American traditions and festivities. The event will start with a family style Thanksgiving potluck lunch on B1, followed by a teachers versus students flag football game. Throughout the afternoon there will be different activities for the students to participate in. Buses will run as normal at the end of the school day.


We ask that students and parents prepare a dish to share at the event. Portion sizes for each dish should serve approximately 10 people. Food contributions have been organized by grade level to ensure that we have enough variety. Please fill out the Google Form to RSVP for the event by Friday, November 18th, and also fill out what food you are bringing so we can make sure there is a nice assortment of different foods!


The grade assignments for this year are:

● Grade 1-5: Beverages

● Grade 6: Main Dishes (Vegan - Non-Dairy)

● Grade 7: Side Dishes (Vegan - Non-Dairy)

● Grade 8: Main Dishes (Western Style)

● Grade 9: Main Dishes (Asian Style)

● Grade 10: Side Dishes (Western Style)

● Grade 11: Side Dishes (Asian Style)

● Grade 12: Desserts


This is one of our favorite events at Hsinchu American School because it is a great opportunity for staff, students and parents to celebrate our small school community and enjoy some interaction outside of the classroom together. We do ask that you abide by the Taiwanese travel guidelines for Covid and we will be taking everyone’s temperature at the door. Due to our limited space this year, we limit one family member per student to attend our potluck. This family member must have already administered three shots of the COVID vaccine and show proof of completing a rapid test 24 hours before this event. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. The health and safety of our community are of utmost importance.

親愛的家長/監護人 您好:


本校謹定於11月24日(星期四)中午12:00舉辦一年一度的感恩節活動。 這項活動對於所有學生及家長來說,是參與美國傳統節慶文化的絕佳機會。 活動將由B1進行的家庭式感恩節餐會展開序幕,接著是老師與學生的腰旗橄欖球競賽,整個下午學生都有不同的活動可以參與,當天校車正常發車返家。


餐會將安排學生和家長準備餐點到學校,與大家一起分享。每項餐點約略準備10人份。每個年級請依分配類別準備食物,如此大家便可品嚐到各式不同風味的餐點。請您協助填寫Google表單,懇請於11/18(星期五)前回覆學校您將準備的餐點,以便確認餐會當日有各種不同類別的餐點,供大家享用。


各年級分配的餐點類別如下:

● 1至5年級: 飲料

● 6年級: 全素主餐 (不含蛋奶)

● 7年級: 素食配菜 (不含蛋奶)

● 8年級: 主餐 (西式)

● 9年級: 主食(中式)

● 10年級: 配菜和開胃菜 (西式)

● 11年級: 配菜和開胃菜(中式)

● 12年級: 甜點


感恩節是本校學生最喜愛的活動之一,這是個非常難得的機會,讓教職員與學生和家長們,在校園中歡度節日,並且可以感受到課堂外彼此之間互動的樂趣。 為遵守防疫,我們將在校門口為您監測體溫。由於本校活動場地關係,今年僅開放每位學生一名家人參與感恩節餐會。所有參與活動來賓,需出示完整疫苗接種證明或24小時內快篩陰性證明,懇請配合。維護校園安全健康是我們首要目標,倘若造成您的不便,敬請見諒!
