Science Fair Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to share important information about this year’s Science Fair and Science Projects at our school.

Elementary School and Middle School Science Fair

The Elementary School Science Fair will take place on Thursday, March 12, in the afternoon. 

Parents can arrive at 12:45 and go to the cluster room on the second floor to see the student presentations. After the presentations, parents can stay to look at all the projects and watch the awards ceremony.

The Middle School Science Fair will take place on Thursday, March 12, at 12:15, in room 511 and the library.

This year, middle school students will present their projects using poster boards, similar to the format used for the history fair in the fall. Middle school students have already received detailed instructions, timelines, and grading information from their science teachers during class. Teachers will continue to guide students as they work on their projects.

Please note some important middle school changes this year:

• 6th-grade students will complete a modeling project, while 7th and 8th-grade students will complete an experimental test.

• All middle school students will be required to create a posterboard.

• Awards will be given for the best projects in each grade, the best overall project, and the most creative project.

High School Science Project

This year, the High School Science Fair will not be held as a public event. Instead, high school students will complete an in-class science report and presentation, which their teachers will evaluate.

• Students will present their projects to their science teachers before the decision day.

• Teachers will nominate 2 selected projects from their class.

• Final judging will take place on April 27 during a professional development (PD) day.

• The high school science teachers will decide the awards.

  
  

If you have questions about your child’s project, or about the event itself, please contact your child’s science teacher directly, as they are providing all necessary guidance in class.

今年本校「科學展覽與科學專題」的重要時程與相關安排，藉由這封郵件與您分享。

小學部、中學部科學展覽

小學部科展將於 3月12日（星期四）下午 舉行。家長請於 12:45 到校，前往 201多功能教室 觀賞學生的科學發表。

發表結束後，歡迎家長留下來參加頒獎典禮及參觀所有學生作品。

中學部科展覽將於 3 月 12 日（星期四）中午12:15在 511 教室及圖書館 舉行。

今年，國中學生將以海報展示板的方式呈現他們的科展作品，形式類似去年秋季的歷史展。學生們已在課堂上收到科學老師提供的詳細說明、時間表以及評分標準。老師們也會持續指導學生，協助他們完成專題作品。

請您留意今年中學部科展調整如下：

• 六年級學生將進行「模型製作」報告；七、八年級學生則進行「實驗測試」報告。

• 所有中學部學生皆須製作展示海報板。

• 將頒發各年級最佳作品獎、全校最佳專題獎以及最具創意獎。

高中部自然科學專題

今年高中部將不舉辦公開科學展覽。改為由學生在課堂內完成科學報告與簡報發表，並由授課老師進行評量。

學生需於決選日前向自然科老師進行專題發表. 

• 學生將在評選日之前向自然科老師展示他們的專案。

• 各班老師將推薦 2 件優選作品。

• 最終評選將於 4 月 27 日教師專業發展日（PD Day） 進行。

• 獎項將由高中部自然科教師共同評定。

由於專題指導皆於課堂中進行，若您對孩子的專題內容有任何疑問，歡迎您與孩子的自然科老師聯繫。
