Elementary School Story Club: Magic Words & Fun

In our first Story Club, students in grades 1–5 read Don't forget to say the magic word...Please by Simon Philip. The story is about a boy who forgets to say “please” when he orders ice cream. Because of this, some funny creatures take him away!

While reading, we talked about the characters, guessed what might happen next, and used animated voices to show dialogue and feelings. At the end, the boy remembers to say “please,” but he forgets to say “thank you.”

Students used their imaginations to create the next place the boy might go. 

Next week, students will share their settings and work together to make a new story, like a sequel. We will also enjoy some ice cream and practice the good manners we learned from the book. 

在小學部第一次的故事俱樂部中，1–5 年級的學生一起閱讀了 Simon Philip 的繪本 《Don't forget to say the magic word...Please》。故事講的是一位小男孩在點冰淇淋時忘了說「請」（please），結果被幾個搞笑的奇怪生物帶走了！

閱讀的過程中，我們聊了故事中的角色 、猜測接下來的劇情發展 ，還用生動的聲音演繹對話與情感 。故事的最後，小男孩雖然記得說「請」，卻忘了說「謝謝」。

接著，學生們發揮想像力，創作了小男孩接下來可能會去的地方 。

下週，大家會分享自己設計的場景，並合作延伸出全新的故事 ，就像續集一樣。我們還會一起吃冰淇淋，並練習從書中學到的好禮貌。
